Concentrate, play your game, and don’t be afraid to win

Introduction
Before getting into my blog, I wish my readers to learn concentration in the first place. Concentration is the most important skill you need to master before getting into improving your life because it is all about learning. Many of us think concentration is a skill that is already present in us. In schools or at the workplace we are told to be concentrated but do we know how to. Have you been ever taught how to concentrate? I guess most of you may say 'no'. If you are a parent, a team leader, or a teacher at school, you might have told your child, your team member, or your student to concentrate on their work but have you taught them how to?. It is the same as you tell a non-basketball player to get a three-pointer shot without teaching him how to play the game.
Do one exercise after completing reading it. Close your eyes. Then think about the recent friend you have met, who was he? , what was he wearing?. Now, think about the recent dish you have eaten, what was its taste? , was it spicy? , was it fatty?. At last, think about the room you are sitting in, feel the presence. After opening your eyes, you will know that when you were thinking about your friend, you were more into it, you almost went to that time when you mat him but when you were thinking about the food, you were not thinking about the friend. This is concentration and it comes with practice. Practice it daily by shifting your focus to the work you are doing.
For example, if you are studying and you suddenly remember about the friend you need to call. Shift back your focus to studying buy writing it down as 'Do it later' job.

What affects our concentration
As we are now living in a completely distracted world, we are more tend to get distracted and it is natural. We have social media on our phones, we see posts, like them, share them and there is no wrong in it but it is a problem if we do these activities while we are at work or in an important meeting. Thus we name phones and social media apps as distractions. They are the wonders of technology but these make our productivity go down.
Just analyze yourself, when did the last time you checked your phone while doing some important work? did a message pop up while you were reading this blog. If you opened it, you need to work upon it and if you didn't open it, it is good but you were distracted by it. It may have been for a few seconds but it will take time to shift back your focus to your work.
We tend to check our social media posts or messages because we have mastered distraction by practicing it. If you have mastered concentration, you would be good at it.
But why we tend to use our phones while doing work while knowing that it is harmful to our productivity. This is because of dopamine detox. This is a substance in your brain which releases when we do the work which gives pleasure. Our brain can't figure out which is bad pleasure or which is good. For example, if you ate a sweet, the dopamine release is higher and you want to eat more. This is not the same when you eat a salad. This same happens when you start using social media. You have trick your brain so that high dopamine is released when you are working by practicing concentration. Be aware of your work. Don't let your brain crave for distraction

So finally , You need to practice concentration to get the maximum productivity. We will post another blog on how to master concentration. Till then find the ways on hoe you can master concentration by avoiding distractions
